About the goal designer
Planners saved my life.
As a new mom back in 2015, I found myself putting everyone and everything else before my own needs.
Self-care was at the very bottom of the to-do list (if it made it there at all).
My Simplified Planner* empowered me to physically create time in my schedule to take care of myself, and in return every other aspect of my life has improved.
It took nearly a year, an ER trip, thousands of dollars in medical bills, and a lot of tears before I realized that taking time for myself HAD to be a top priority in my life.
I felt like I was drowning, and worse, like I was failing as a mom because I resented not being able to do the simple tasks of caring for my child and making sure our home wasn’t trashed every day.
By the time my husband came home from work I was miserable, irritated, exhausted, and ashamed at state of our home.
It wasn’t until my doctor actually wrote me a prescription for daycare
...that I realized I had to stop putting this intense pressure on myself to do everything and be everything to everyone but myself. That little permission slip helped me realize that the only way I could give my family the best version of me was to start putting my care at the top of the list.
We can't all have a kickass doctor like mine, so consider this my permission slip to you, to make your self-care a non-negotiable.
I believe that life is lived within the pages of your planner, and that your self-care and dreams are not only non-negotiable, but are schedulable (which may not sound sexy, but that's #reallife).
By hanging out here, you’re going to start seeing that life can be more than what it is now. That your people will not just be okay but thrive when you take time to focus on yourself. You’re going to become BFFs with saying no to things that don’t serve you. And the best part? You’re not going to feel guilty doing it.
We’re living a life of radical non-guilt over here at The Goal Designer, are you in?
